never ever apologize to me for your dog being too excited to see me

a dog could knock me to the ground and give me a black eye and I would still hug it and love it because dogs hurt because they love too much I love dogs

oh FUCK OFF!!!!! i would gladly pay for both the dinners if it meant i get equal pay, and domestic violence rates decrease, and rape prevalence decreases, and im not catcalled on the fucking street.
of fucking course i like free food. but thats as a person, not a woman.
im not even gonna start about the second picture. there so much wrong with it

I’ll start with it.
Firstly, every feminist I’ve spoken to is opposed to the tradition of men paying for dinner, since one of the bases of feminism is opposition to traditional gender roles, both for men and women. Many of my female friends insist on splitting bills 50:50 (unless they’re taking their partner out for a treat or vice versa, obviously).
Secondly, it’s wildly inaccurate (not to mention cisnormative) to act as though men can carry 40 times the amount that women can, and if a woman could only carry 2lbs (aside from the fact that she’d probably not be a woman but actually a small child), I really don’t think she’d have gone into a career that requires physical labour.
Thirdly, we live in an increasingly intellectual society where physical labour is increasingly carried out by machinery, and the wage gap affects people in careers where they are doing exactly as much work as their male counterparts.

http://www.theguardian.com/money/2013/nov/07/gender-pay-gap-official-figures-disparity
http://ec.europa.eu/justice/gender-equality/document/index_en.htm#h2-7
I’d also like to acknowledge that plenty of feminists (female and male and non-binary alike) belong to the queer community, and do not date/do not exclusively date members of the opposite sex. It’s wildly inaccurate to say that all feminists support chivalry, a) because most don’t and b) because there are plenty of feminists (and women in general) who gain no benefit from it whatsoever on account of not commonly dating men.

It would appear the person who attempted to draw this was trying to depict construction workers in the second panel. I’m going to go out on a limb and guess they have never actually done any job requiring physical labor before, or else they would know that a lot of those jobs have a lifting requirement to get hired on that you must meet regardless of gender.
I work at a warehouse and I am required to lift 75 pounds along with my male counterparts. Still the majority of employees on my shift are female. In fact, I would say both men and women are pretty equally represented in management.
I’ve been put in a lot more physical jobs within the warehouse over my male counterparts because I’ve proven that I can do the job reliably when others couldn’t be. Most of the time, I don’t even need to be asked. (It’s a warehouse that sells musical equipment and I pretty much spent my Saturday last weekend lifting and moving huge speaker cabinets. No, they are not light.)
A friend of mine who works there started at the same time as me and had transferred into what is probably the most physically intensive department in the warehouse. She is the only girl in that department. She is also more in shape than and can lift more than almost all of the guys there.
Oh, little side note about my friend. When she first transferred over there, some of the guys would purposefully give her the hardest to maneuver rabbit jacks in the warehouse. (a piece of power equipment that you have to use your upper body to steer. There’s no power steering and some of them you really have to lean all of your body weight into). They did this specifically because she was a girl and I guess they wanted to show that she wasn’t as as good at it as them … or something. (One of the guys there told me this when helping out in my department one day. Why he chose to divulge this information is beyond me.) So the fact that she can not only keep up with, but actually run circles around those guys is pretty awesome.
Also, here’s a little pro tip: If you specifically give women harder equipment to work with and enlist them in doing the heaviest lifting all the time to show they’re weaker, that’s called confirmation bias and you’re not actually proving anything. (I mean, other than the fact that you’re a giant man-baby who probably isn’t very good at his job to begin with.)
Tl;dr version: That second panel is sexist in a couple of different ways and women absolutely deserve equal pay. You can stop paying for my meals when I make the same amount as you for doing the same job.

Shitty attempt at a graphic is shitty, OH WELL.
Well, fuck. We did it, kids. A year later and 550 followers for some reason unknown to me. As promised here is a follow forever that took way too long to do. If you’re not on this list, I’m sorry. I’ll include you next time.
On the list - Just extremely awesome people who have all of my love and are extremely nice and I’ve talked to at some point, probably. You guys are all great and to anyone reading the list, they’re all worth a follow.
In no order because fuck that noise, I’m too lazy to put everyone in alphabetical order.

Again, if you didn’t make the list, I’m so, so, so sorry! I was just going through all my follows and wow this just took so long. Thank you all for running wonderful blogs and adding content to mine.

xI remember seeing this once and it stuck to me

ratatit:

you know whats gross

that people w penises are generally v v educated about their bodies as kids like they know exactly whats gonna happen

but like for me i had no idea what vaginal discharge was and when i started getting it in 5th grade i was fucking petrified and i hear so many stories about little girls thinking that theyre dying because no one told them what a period was

idk thats just really fucking shitty that female anatomy is so taboo that we cant even properly educate kids
